Porter's First Black Eye

Smiling for Grandma

Last month, Porter and Kassi had a little incident with one another.

Jackson and I were busy doing our Saturday chores at the shed and in the house, respectively.  The children- Sally, Rex, Kassi, and Porter- were on top of the hill riding bikes on the driveway.

Kassi was on her bike and Porter was on foot.  Porter, looking to the side, was running down the neighbor's driveway.  Kassi, cruising on her 2-wheel bike, was headed straight towards her brother.

Crash!! Caboom!!

The remains of his black eye.

Porter loves to show off his battle scars!

Kassi crashed right into Porter. He hit his forehead on the handlebars and fell to the side on the concrete.  There was instant wailing and blood.  Porter had a goose egg on his left brow and a big bloody spot on his forehead.  Definaitley worthy of stitches.

So after 7 stitches and a big black eye, Porter proudly wore his wound.  At church, he would stand silently at people's feet and gaze into their face and point to his head.  It was quite comical.

Now a month later, he is a happy boy with lots of scars.  We are applying medaderm ointment to help lighten his scars.  Hope it works cause it was nearly $20 for a little tube of ointment.

Cheese!  Porter is a happy boy.  He wasn't so happy a week ago when he had a hurtie head.

Calvin Walking His Bike

Here is our sweet Calvin boy pushing the tricycle around. He is quickly mastering the art of walking.

Earlier in the day, he was exploring the garage and headed outside.  As he was venturing down the driveway, he stumbled head first onto the gravel. He has some head wounds to show his progress.

Later on, I put shoes on his feet.  Calvin needed protection against the rocks and the chicken poop.  He loves the shoes and even walked with Kassi across the yard.

Hello darling. I was beginning to wonder if you remembered me. I sure miss you too. I am looking forward to having you home for so many reasons, but most of all, to have you to hold and kiss, but first you need to have a smooth face. Did you get the picture of the kiddos that I sent you last night. I started a family blog so we can keep a record of our family. You can look at when you get to Dad's. Hope you drive safe. I love you, too!!oh, how is my day going? It is good. Just spending time with each of my kiddos. you should see Calvin. He loves to walk. He wore shoes for the first time and was all over the yard. He even did a face plant in the rocks trying to navigate down the hill from the garage. Only a little dent in the forehead, no blood. :) Anyway, kids are outside riding bikes. oh, we have tomatoes and green beans growing in the garden. yeah!!I better go fix some supper. Did i tell you i love you yet? i love you, jackson.

I did get the picture. I love it. I have tried calling you when I could talk but I guess you were busy. The tack trailer threw a wheel off so we had to unload most of the stuff to the back of the trucks and suburban. We are back on the road but going slow. Not even to Dubious yet. I will check out the blog later tonight. Picture Calvin walking and send it over. Loves!
